New Rustic Cabins at Flying Flags

Rustic-Feel Cabins New Lodging Option at Flying Flags

We are happy to announce the addition of two beautiful rustic cabins that are now available for booking. Complimenting our tent lodge and luxury cottages, both of the new cedar cabins offer a rustic feel with a number of decidedly modern amenities including:

full kitchen & bathroom

bedroom with a queen bed

futon in the living room

color television

resort-wide complimentary wi-fi

covered porch overlooking tent area

bunk beds in one of the two cabins

These rustic cabins offer a convenient option for vacationing with friends or family that don't have an RV or tent or for those who prefer a "lodge" feel to their getaway. We've begun taking reservations for both cabins and expect them to be a very popular back-to-nature lodging option.

The nightly rate this winter is $99 weekdays / $149 weekends. Take advantage of our Introductory Offer package which includes a bundle of firewood and a Smores Kit. And if you stay 3 or more nights we will include a free large delivered pizza!

Fall for Flying Flags Promotion

Prelude Bike Ride

Cyclists will gather for the 22nd annual Solvang Prelude Ride on November 5. This ride is a precursor to the Solvang Century ride next March and has 35, 50 and 63 mile courses through the scenic wine country, varying from relaxing rural routes to the challenging and hilly 63 miler.

Water, energy drinks and snacks will be provided by volunteers throughout each course and an outdoor festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with BBQ lunch provided from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for riders and their guests who pre-order tickets.

Bark at the Park Family Days

Celebrate the pet/parent bond at a fun-filled festival for the whole family.

Celebrity Spotting

Laura Wright, who recently won a Daytime Emmy Award for her role as Carly Corinthos on the ABC soap General Hospital, will take on the role of celebrity judge in the canine costume contest and, getting in the spirit of the season, the star will also judge a pumpkin-decorating contest.

Rover-Related Activities

Spots will show off their skills in the USDAA dog agility trials.
Dog devotees will cheer for the Rovers who round up straying sheep in the Herding competition.
Open to all ages and breeds, the Canine Good Citizen Program will test a tail-wagger�s temperament in such categories as accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, walking through a crowd, sitting and staying in place on command, reaction to another dog and reaction to distraction.
A low-cost canine clinic.
Pet parents and their pups can participate in a pay to play Toss and Fetch Frisbee event.

2nd Annual Vintage Trailer Bash

Its coming again....After a fine inaugural event last year, the Buellton Vintage Trailer Bash is back Sept 23-25, 2011. Last year we had about 50 trailers, this year over 150 RV's from the 1940's, 1950's and the 1960's are confirmed to be here. There will be an open house on Saturday so come visit yesteryear.

Central Coaster Event

Come join us on June 24th-26th for the Buellton Central Coaster on Avenue of Flags just a block from the resort. This event features a CAR SHOW, SWAP MEET, POKER RUN & Cruises. Open to all type of vehicles! Admission to the public is free. Vehicle registration is $40, Poker Run $20, and Swap meet spaces $20. All entries eligible for a drawing $1,000 top prize.

July 4th is on a Monday this Year!

You're Invited - RV COOKING SHOW LIVE EVENTS 4/29 & 4/30

We are excited to present two live RV Cooking Show events pool side on April 29th & April 30th. To celebrate, we have a special camping offer just for this weekend. Stay Friday & Saturday nights and we will include Sunday night absolutely free. Even if you have to work on Monday�stay as late as you like on Sunday. Just mention the code words �Love to Travel. Love to Eat� when making your reservations or at check-in and stay Sunday night free.

Friday the 29th is the Party in Paradise. BBQ Tri-tip, a local barbeque specialty, is on the menu and the evening will feature a live cooking demonstration, complimentary frozen concoctions for the big kids, an Enjoy Cupcake served from their classic Shasta Travel Trailer, audience participation and a fantastic giveaway raffle benefiting the Santa Barbara County Food Bank. A perfect end to the evening, enjoy an entertaining movie on the big screen. The Party in Paradise begins at 4:30pm and tickets, $11.95, are available at check-in.

Dinner and a Movie is on the table Saturday the 30th, again patio and pool side. Mosey on over at 6:30pm, BYOB (bring your own beverage � glass okay on the patio but not on the pool deck) and a delish potluck dish to share. Flying Flags will provide a steaming pot of chili, tea and water plus s�more fixins� for dessert! Please bring your own flatware and plates � soft drinks will be available for purchase. We�ll mix, mingle and make new friends � bring your recipe to share, have more raffle giveaways for the Santa Barbara Food Bank (if you didn�t win big Friday night you have another chance Saturday � your tickets will still be in the pot), and wrap up the starry night with Julie/Julia (PG-13) on the big screen. This is a classic RVer potluck and the event is complimentary.
