Another busy, eventful month is on tap for Flying Flags RV Resort and surrounding area, starting this coming weekend.

The Rancheros Visitadores, a group of nearly 1,000 horsemen from around the country, will continue their 83-year tradition of gathering for a week-long ride through the Santa Ynez Valley. They will once again partner with Wrangler and the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Foundation” to support local breast cancer awareness and programs. Their ride will kick off with a parade of pink through the streets of Solvang to old Mission Santa Ines, where community members will gather to witness a blessing of the riders and a check presentation to the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara.

The Rancheros parade is set for Saturday, May 4.

That same day, from 10 until noon, you can experience a link to America’s horses at the Return to Freedom Sanctuary and meet some of the horses. Then, at the “Wild Horses and Wildflowers” event, from 3 to 7 p.m., you can watch the ceremonial spring release of the herds, live music, a silent auction, vendors, activities for kids and more.
